Last updated: June 9, 2026
Codex (codex-jedicus.org) is a scholarly Bible-translation study environment. This policy explains what we collect and how it is used.
Information you provide
- Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address and authentication credentials (your password is stored only in hashed form). We use your email to verify your account and send account-related messages.
- Study data. Notes, highlights, bookmarks, vocabulary, and review progress you create are stored so we can save and sync them to your account.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as your theme. Codex does not display advertising and does not use advertising cookies on this site.
How your information is used
To operate the service: authenticate you, store and sync your study data, send verification and account emails, and maintain security and reliability. We do not sell your personal information.
Service providers
We host the application and store data on cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform), and load web fonts from Google Fonts. These providers process data on our behalf to deliver the service.
Advertising on related sites
The codex-jedicus.org domain participates in Google AdSense for advertising shown on certain subdomains (for example, formaticus.codex-jedicus.org). Those ads, and any related cookies, are described in that subdomain's own privacy policy. The Codex application itself does not serve ads.

We keep account and study data for as long as your account is active. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting us.
Children
Codex is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
